The St. John’s Intellectual Property Colloquium is a visiting speaker series in that provides students with an opportunity to hone their critical and analytical skills through deep engagement with cutting-edge legal scholarship, presented by the authors themselves. IPLC Director Professor Jeremy Sheff was selected as a 2016-17 Visiting Overseas Researcher by the Institute of Intellectual Property (IIP) in Tokyo, Japan, through a program entrusted to IIP by the Japan Patent Office. Professor Sheff spent two months in Tokyo, where he conducted empirical research on Japan's trademark registration system.
