Congratulations to Elliot Shine ’19, on becoming the newest Intellectual Property Law Center Fellow

Elliot Shine has been named as the 2018-19 IP Law Center Fellow. The fellowship recognizes his dedication to the Intellectual Property community within St. John’s Law.

Equipped with an undergraduate degree in Biology from The Ohio State University, Shine enrolled at St. John’s Law with a full-tuition St. Thomas More Scholarship. At St. John’s, Shine has thrived in IP courses, receiving the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Patent Law and writing his scholarly research paper on the contemporary issues faced by diagnostic method patents. Shine currently serves as the president of the Intellectual Property Law Society and externs twice a week at a patent prosecution firm, Hespos & Porco.

Shine welcomes the challenges that await him in his final year. “I’m looking forward to sitting for the Patent Bar next semester and performing my new role within the St. John’s IP Law Center to the best of my abilities” he says. “I don’t think I could have done any of this without my family or friends,” he shares, “I really would like to thank them for their unwavering support throughout my academic career.”
